The story of our aviation supplies and accessories store

Bob's Aviation Supplies was founded by Robert Walls in 1980. Bob came upon the idea of a local aviation supply shop in the mid-seventies.

The story goes like this: Bob was on vacation on an island off the coast of the State of Washington. He was stranded on the island because of rental car and ferry problems. ¿If I could fly,¿ he thought, ¿I could beat the system.¿ Within a year, he put-in the flight training and study necessary to earn his private pilot¿s license. His love of flying began immediately.

Bob has logged 2000 hours in his Piper Dakota flying west coast to east coast, Canada and Mexico. The beauty of Mother Earth at altitude combined with the freedom of flight was a dream-come-true.

In 1980, Bob decided to begin selling a few assorted aviation supplies from a small location at the San Jose Airport. The business grew and he moved to San Jose¿s Reid Hillview Airport to secure more square footage. The business continued to thrive for many years. His final move was to the mid-section of Silicon Valley at the Palo Alto Airport. The Palo Alto location of Bob's Aviation Supplies is still running and thriving under the busy skies of Silicon Valley.
